TOOLS FOR DRINK… Hyun Sanghwa South-Korean artist

Le Salon Révélations biennale internationale des métiers d’art & de création qui se tient tous les 2 ans au Grand Palais, porte un regard nouveau sur la création contemporaine. La biennale place le créateur au centre de l’événement et invite au dialogue les métiers d’art et de création du monde entier.

Pour sa 3ème édition au Grand Palais, la biennale devient LE rendez-vous du Printemps en se tenant désormais du 3 au 8 mai 2017. Allez-y ! Plus de 400 créateurs artisans- créateurs, artistes de la matière, designers, galeries, manufactures d’art, maisons d’excellence, fondations, viendront présenter leurs créations originales et inédites.

Lors de la dernière édition en mai 2015, j’avais été émerveillée par la création des artistes et artisans Sud-Coréens, pays invité d’honneur. Et tout particulièrement par l’artiste sud-coréen Hyun Sanghwa qui oeuvre sous le nom Deep Cobalt. Il est designer en céramique et son travail est axé sur les outils pour boire comme il aime à les appeler. Une tradition séculaire asiatique associée à une grande créativité, accompagnée d’une audace des formes et des matériaux secondaires qui apporte à ses pièces en céramique un côté vintage et sophistiqué… bref, une énergie incroyable dans chaque pièce et un pur bonheur pour les yeux, les mains et l’imagination.

Je l’ai suivi depuis, cherchant sans relâche des informations, des images, une bio. Cet artiste se faisait très rare sur la toile.

J’ai récemment, à force de recherches trouvé ce site sud-coréen Dining Object qui met à l’honneur la poterie coréenne classique. Dining Objet vise à apporter aux foyers coréens la poterie coréenne classique pour embellir leur repas quotidiens avec un objet d’art. The Salon Révélations biennale international des métiers d’art & de création, held every two years at the Grand Palais, takes a new look at contemporary creation. The biennial places the creator at the center of the event and invites to dialogue the crafts of art and creation of the whole world.

For its 3rd edition at the Grand Palais, the biennial becomes The rendez-vous of Spring, from 3 to 8 May 2017. Go ahead! More than 400 creative artisans – creators, artists of the matter, designers, galleries, art manufactures, houses of excellence, foundations, will come to present their creations original and unpublished.

At the last edition in May 2015, I was amazed by the creation of South Korean artists and artisans, honor-guest country. And especially by the South Korean artist Hyun Sanghwa who works under the name of Deep Cobalt. He is a ceramic designer and his work is focused on drinking tools as he likes to call them. An ancient Asian tradition combined with great creativity, accompanied by an audacity of forms and secondary materials that brings to its ceramic pieces a vintage and sophisticated side … in short, an incredible energy in each piece and a pure happiness for the eyes, hands and imagination.

I have followed him since, constantly seeking information, images, an organic. This artist is very rare on the Internet.

I recently found, through deep research South Korean Dining Object site that honors classic Korean pottery. Dining Object aims to bring to the Korean households the classic Korean pottery to embellish their daily meals with an art object.
