Comme d’habitude ça commence avec une image croisée au détour d’une recherche pour tout à fait autre chose (ce que l’on appelle la sérendipité aussi). D’un clic à un autre j’en suis arrivée à sourcer des inspirations sur le bardage de bois en intérieur. La technique du Shou Sugi Ban m’avait déjà interpellée pour l’extérieur et m’avait conduite a me documenter sur l’utilisation de l’élément feu dans le design (à lire ici). Mais c’est en intérieur que cela me fascine aujourd’hui.

Voici un DIY pour fabriquer vous même un pan de mur en bardage (bois issu de palettes).

Pour ceux qui comme moi sont en location, voici un plan B ! Le papier peint façon scrapwood maintenant bien connu. Lancé par Piet Hein Eek (Designer Néerlandais basé à Eindhoven, Maître dans l’art du scrapwood) il y a un moment déjà, sa collection a fait des émules et il est possible d’en trouver de toutes sortes.

En extérieur, la technique du bardage est intéressante à de nombreux points de vue, la pose d’un bardage permet à la fois de rajeunir une façade et d’améliorer l’enveloppe d’un bâtiment. Et ce n’est pas tout… Un bardage, associé à un isolant extérieur permet d’améliorer notablement l’isolation thermique et de satisfaire aux exigences actuelles. Il permet également de masquer efficacement les fissures et d’éliminer les ponts thermiques qui peuvent entraîner d’importantes pertes énergétiques. Enfin, il améliore l’isolation phonique d’un bâtiment.

As usual it starts with a crossed image at the bend of a search for quite another thing (so-called serendipity too). From one click to another I came to sourcing inspirations on wood siding indoors. The technique of Shou Sugi Ban has already challenged me for the exterior and led me to document the use of the element fire in the design (to read here). But it’s inside that fascinates me today.

For those who like me are rented, here is a plan B! The scrapwood way now well known. Launched by Piet Hein Eek (Dutch designer based in Eindhoven, Master in the art of scrapwood) a while ago, his collection has emulated and it is possible to find all sorts.

Outdoor, the technique of cladding is interesting from many points of view, the installation of a cladding makes it possible both to rejuvenate a facade and to improve the envelope of a building. And that’s not all … A cladding, combined with an external insulation can significantly improve thermal insulation and meet current requirements.
